Main Beach Surf and Sport Presents “The 2012 Hamptons SUP Race Series”

Main Beach is sponsoring a series of SUP races for 2012 that are World Paddling Association sanctioned. This is very exciting for the Eastern Long Island stand up paddling community and should also be of interest to paddlers from around the tri-state area.

We have chosen beautiful, accessible and user friendly locations for all of the races.

All SUP races in the series are supported by the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue Squad. These amazing volunteers provide race course set up, jet ski, paddler and rescue swimmer safety coverage for the races.

The races will use a rule and points system designed by the WPA. Racers participating in WPA sanctioned races will earn WPA ranking points, the top finishers in each division will also qualify for prizes based on points earned and participation. Race series supporters include Werner Paddles, Global Surf Industries, Kialoa Paddles, JP Australia, O’neill and other leading water sports companies.

2012 Race Schedule:

- May 19th “Paddle Race for the Bays”, Havens Beach, Sag Harbor
- July 29th “Paddle Race for Humanity”, Sammys Beach, East Hampton
- October 6th “Paddle Race for Ocean Rescue”, Lazy Point Boat Ramp Amagansett to Eddie Ecker Park Montauk
