Women’s Stand Up Paddle Adventures at Main Beach
Main Beach celebrates women & water! Whether you’re just getting your feet wet or are an experienced water woman, Main Beach has a SUP experience customized to your needs. This sport is exploding with popularity across the nation because paddleboarding is a fun way to build arm, core and quad strength while developing great balance and getting a tan!
So, join the fun, grab a friend and get your SUP on this summer! Check out our class schedule or create your own. Group lessons must be 3+ persons and can be scheduled at the time of your choice.
M A Y – J U N E 2013:
MAIN BEACH SUNSET YOGA & PADDLE - Saturdays @ 5:30PM, starting Memorial Day weekend!
Come join Main Beach for a 2-hour sunset tour of Georgica Pond complete with a private yoga class on the beach! Each Saturday from May – June (this event moves to Wed.s in July) meet at the shop at 5:30 for a stand up paddle clinic to talk about safety & technique and then we’ll launch on to Georgica Pond. Paddlers will be accompanied by SUP-er yogini, Evelyn O’Doherty & Main Beach’s own Rick Drew to cross the pond and have a yoga class on the beach. Relaxed and refreshed, we’ll complete our journey back to our starting point where you can be off to enjoy your Saturday night Hamptons adventure! These paddles are about 3 miles round-trip. NO experience necessary. $95 includes equipment, expert instruction and a sunset yoga class on the beach! Without equipment rental (bring your own!), cost is $45.

FITNESS/BEGINNER’S RACE PREP PADDLE - Sundays @ 11:00AM starting May 12th.
Challenge yourself! You don’t have to be a rock star paddler to want to race. You just have to get out there! We all know SUP is an excellent core and all-body work out. If you want to take your skills to the next level, join Evelyn of Main Beach on Sunday mornings as we challenge ourselves with more than just a social paddle. Our Fitness/Beginner’s Race Prep Paddles will include timed ‘race’ trials across Georgica Pond to build strength & increase cardio. For those SUPin’ Wahines who want to explore further into the realm of racing, we’ll talk about race starts, sprints, stroke and entering/exiting the surf break. Even if you’ve never tried racing before, come down for the overall body workout that could change your life & increase your fitness level. $75 includes equipment, race instruction/guided technique, time trials and a lot of laughter! $25 without equipment rental (bring your own board).

SUP SURF clinic with Candice Appleby & Anthony Vela - June 7th, Fri.
Main Beach welcomes All-World SUP racers Candice Appleby and Anthony Vela for 2 days of clinics to get your STOKE on for summer! Day #1 will include a 4-hour SUP surfing clinic with 2 individuals who are truly driving the sport to new extremes every day. Candice & Anthony will host an exclusive 6-person ONLY half day clinic to go over the skills of stand up paddle surfing including paddle technique, cut backs, top turns and more! Each participant will be individually assessed by our two all-star instructors and specific guided techniques will be given to bring your SUP surfing to a whole new level! NOT to be missed, this is a rare and incredible opportunity to work with the best in the sport in a small group setting for maximum benefit. $400 includes 4-hours of one-on-one instruction with Candice & Anthony, goodie bag and water/beverage. This 4 hour SUP race clinic will offer effective stroke technique, racing tips and workout routines to take your training to a whole new level. One-day WOMEN’S SUP/SURF Retreats - Monday, July 8 @ 9AM and/OR Monday, July 29 @ 10AM
Join us for our one-day women’sl SUP & SURF retreats on Monday July 8th and Monday, July 29th from 10 – 3:30ish. We will begin with a “meet & greet” at the shop where we can gather ourselves and apply loads of sunblock for our ALL DAY water immersion. Next, we will shuttle to Georgica Pond where we will have a brief Stand Up Paddleboarding clinic that covers the rudiments of paddleboarding and water-safety. From there, we will launch onto Georgica and continue with an on-the-water seminar about stroke, technique and core development. After a leisurely tour of Georgica Pond, we will head to the beach on the opposite shore where our surfing adventure awaits! In the private environs of the third jetty off of Georgica Beach, we’ll talk surfing & safety and get you in right into the water to catch some epic waves! Our expert surf instructors will teach the finer points of paddling, popping up, maintaining your balance and having a blast! There is no better way to end the summer than to catch the stoke of being on the water AND learning to surf. With the afternoon ahead of us, we can practically promise you a wave to remember until your next warm water vacation! Lunch & refreshments will be provided. $295 per person and includes all equipment, instruction, lunch and transportation to our launch and/or from the beach.

SUP CLINICS with NIKKI GREGG - Saturday, Aug. 24 @ 9:30AM and 2:00PM and/OR Monday, Aug. 26 @ 9:30AM
Main Beach is super stoked to host nationally acclaimed SUP superstar Nikki Gregg for a series of 3 clinics in late August. Nikki, a renowned fitness trainer and one of the most recognized athletes in stand up paddling today, will offer group SUP clinics with Evelyn O’Doherty of Main Beach on paddling tips for stroke efficiency, maximum glide and the core benefits of SUP. Nikki will also be on hand for the Paddlers for Humanity Wahine Paddle and Youth Event on Sunday, Aug. 25 @ 9AM, helping to promote the sport and ALL the great women of SUP. Price is $95 for a 2-hour clinic. These clinics will fill up fast!

PADDLE with MANDALA YOGA - Mondays @ 4PM
Main Beach is teaming up with Mandala Yoga Studio in Amagansett to host a weekly paddle on Gardiner’s Bay in Amagansett. Come join the fun & Mandala Yoga community as we launch from Fresh Pond (weather permitting) and take a tour of majestic Gardiner’s Bay. Each week there will be a brief demonstration and paddle clinic for beginners, then its off to paradise on a paddleboard. Even if you’ve never tried it before, we guarantee you a fun-filled, safe excursion that will have you talking to your friends and back for MORE!
